Dialogue with UN Rapporteur on Violence against Black, Migrant & Refugee Women in the Netherlands

Despite decades of campaigning and gains in legislation, Violence against Women remains a major problem in countries around the world. Violence against Black, Migrant and Refugee Women is additionally impacted not only by patriarchy, but also by racism and other political and social structures. On July 6th , Black, Migrant and Refugee women in the Netherlands will dialogue on their experiences with the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against women.

During this dialogue we will exchange with Ms. Yakin Ertürk on the realities of violence experienced by Black, Migrant and Refugee women working and living in the Netherlands:

  • Women and family reunion
  • Migrant women domestic workers and their vulnerable situation
  • Women asylum seekers and their situation
  • Undocumented migrant women in the Netherlands
