From 27–30 April, the Transnational Institute (TNI) is participating in a small book tour in Portugal to launch the Portuguese edition of Dismantling Green Colonialism: Energy and Climate Justice in the Arab Region, with events in Porto, Coimbra and Lisbon.

Between 27 and 30 April, a series of public events will take place across Porto, Coimbra and Lisbon to mark the launch of the Portuguese edition of Dismantling Green Colonialism.

The discussions will explore questions of energy and climate justice, green colonialism, extractivism, and pathways toward more just and democratic energy futures.

The tour features Hamza Hamouchene (Transnational Institute), with Manal Shqair joining online for the Lisbon event on 29 April, alongside local researchers and activists.

Book launch: Colonialismo Verde: Justiça Energética e Climática nos Países Árabes
Location: FPCEUP, Auditorium 2C, Porto

Opening event of the tour hosted at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto. The book will be presented by Hamza Hamouchene, with local speakers.

Coimbra — 28 April, 18:00

Green colonialism and struggles for energy and climate justice: a dialogue across contexts
Location: Liquidâmbar, Coimbra

This session brings together perspectives from different struggles for environmental and climate justice, connecting experiences across regions.

Lisbon — 29 April, 18:00

Dismantling Green Colonialism: Energy and Climate Justice in the Arab Region
