Focus on the Global South combines policy research, advocacy, activism, and grassroots capacity-building in order to generate critical analysis and encourage debates on national and international policies related to corporate-led globalisation, neo-liberalism and militarisation.

Madison Dialogue

The Madison Dialogue is a project that grew out of a major Havens Center conference on the "The New Latin American Left" held in the spring of 2004.

The Dialogue is an ongoing collaboraton and discussion among academics and social and political leaders from Latin America, as well as Europe, Asia and Africa.

 

Municipal Services Project

The Municipal Service Project (MSP) systematically explores alternatives to the privatization and commercialization of service provision in the health, water, sanitation and electricity sectors.  We evaluate service delivery models deemed to be successful alternatives to commercialization in an effort to understand the conditions required for their sustainability and reproducibility.

Networked Politics

Networked Politics is a contribution to the continuing debates and practical experiments concerning new forms of political organisation. It is purpose is to help the activists who act in movements, collectives, associations, parties, trade unions to develop a deeper understanding of the innovations of which we are all a part.

The discussion is pursued along four interrelated lines of inquiry. These examine social movements, including their development of new forms of knowledge and organisation; progressive political parties, and attempts to bring about transformative forms of political representation; the dangers and opportunities facing the development of political institutions in a network society; and the potential of new techno-political tools for facilitating and reconceiving political organisation.

RedFAL - Forum of Local Authorities for Social Inclusion and Participative Democracy

Network

The FAL network is a meeting space and joint discussion with the World Social Forum from which local authorities involved in the protest movement against neo-liberal logic promote an agenda based on peace, social inclusion, participatory democracy, inter-city solidarity, the defense and promotion of public utilities, the right to the city and a sustainable environment, and respect for fundamental human rights (education, health, housing and access to water) guarenteeing full citizenship rights, especially for immigrants.

Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung

The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation is a provider of political education, a discussion forum for critical thinking and political alternatives, and a centre for progressive social thinking and research both in Germany and throughout the world.

World Development Movement

The UK-based WDM campaigns tackle the root causes of poverty focusing on issues such as debt, trade, privatisation and climate change.
