Felipe Calderon of the conservative pro-US National Action Party (PAN) was sworn in as Mexico’s president after the Federal Tribunal rejected the opposition’s demand for a full recount of the votes, despite serious evidence of fraud. The legitimate government, argue the authors, is the people’s government established by the left, and the legitimate president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
