Ge Yun outlines the struggle for water in China and the challenges being confronted there.

Ge Yun participated in the Reclaiming Public Water global strategy meeting (1-3 February 2010) in Brussels. She works with Xinjiang Conservation Fund. Established in 2001, Xinjiang Conservation Fund (XCF) - www.greenxinjiang.org - is the first grassroots NGO in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. XCF is committed to promote bio-diversity conservation and environmental governance in Xinjiang; safeguard environmental rights and promote sustainable development for Xinjiang’s population; and increase citizen awareness of environmental protection and inspire public participation in Xinjiang. She has been involved in research on the privatization of China’s public water sector in urban cities and awareness campaign since 2007.
