Energy Transition and Democracy: Two inseparable paths

We are pleased to invite you to the II International Conference on Energy Transition and Democracy and European Meeting of People Affected by the Energetic Model. The event will take place in Bilbao, on October 9th, 10th and 11th. Organised by Tradener, MAR, ODG, TNI and Gure Energia.
The three-day programme will offer an overview of the global energetic model and will look into the conflicts, struggles, resistances and experiences of several agents and movements confronting it. The conference will host many comrades from Latin America, especifically from Movimiento de Afectados por Represas (MAR), Movimento dos Atingidos por Barragens (MAB-Brasil), as well as speeches on the situation in Uruguay, Venezuela, Bolivia, Chile and Ecuador, and also experiences from Kurdistan, Sahara, Catalunya, Eastern Europe, Germany, Italy and France.
The depletion of resources, the climate crisis and the indispensable ecofeminist proposal to transform the fossil regime... These topics of major importance that are determining the present and future of energy transition and democracy won't be left aside.
On the 11th, following the debates, the analysis of the situation and the shared experiences, we will begin the European Meeting of People Affected by the Energetic Model to build common action strategies both in the struggle for the rights of affected peoples and in the construction of a new energetic model, as a previous step towards the IV International Meeting of Affected People in 2020.
If you're interested in joining this meeting you can register here.
