She describes her work in a cogent way that has come to define TNI: "The job of the responsible social scientist is first to uncover these forces [of wealth, power and control], to write about them clearly, without jargon... and finally..to take an advocacy position in favour of the disadvantaged, the underdogs, the victims of injustice."
Gisela Dütting is an anthropologist by training (fieldwork in Swaziland and Algeria/Niger border area) and specialized in social movements, gender and economic justice. Between 1991 and 1998, she was the Director of the Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights. She has more than 25 years of experience in program management and policy development, deployed on long-term assignments .
Pauline works globally as an independent consultant and advisor to producer organisations, social businesses, donors, banks and corporations on fair trade, sustainability, partnerships, branding, finance and labor rights in supply chains - mainly in agriculture. She is a non-executive director of several non-profits and social businesses include the Friends of the Moscow School for Social and Economic Sciences, the Pluto Educational Trust (launched in 2011 - http://www.plutoeducational.org) and Divine Chocolate.
Ruth Kronenburg studied Communication and Business Administration. For years she worked in the commercial world of television where she held various management and executive positions. In 2009 she joined the Iranian radio station “Radio Zamaneh”, where she was touched by the personal stories of people who worked at the radio station and who had left Iran, often risking their own lives.
Frenk van Enckevort holds a Master in Sociology of Organisations. He is committed to improving living conditions and future prospects for disadvantaged people, especially in developing countries and fragile settings. His international career within governmental institutions and development organisations spans several decades and has made him an expert in management and organisation.
