Las y los científicos que estudian el cambio climático advierten que estamos a punto de cruzar umbrales peligrosos que ponen en riesgo la habitabilidad del planeta para millones de personas. Hemos pasado consecutivamente por dos de los años más calurosos que se hayan registrado en la historia, incendios forestales sin precedentes y eventos climáticos extremos que se están volviendo cada vez más normales. Es casi seguro que en los próximos cinco años se supere el aumento de 1,5 grados Celsius en las temperaturas mundiales respecto a los niveles preindustriales. Sin embargo, en junio, la mayor alianza de “seguridad” del mundo, la OTAN, se reunirá en La Haya no para abordar esta crisis, sino para echar más petróleo al fuego.
