Across the world, land, oceans and food systems are increasingly shaped by corporate concentration, financial speculation and extractive models of development. Agribusiness expansion, industrial fishing, land grabbing and resource extraction are accelerating ecological destruction while undermining the livelihoods, rights and autonomy of small-scale food producers, Indigenous peoples and coastal communities.

TNI’s Land, Sea and Food work supports struggles for food sovereignty, democratic control over natural resources and the protection of the commons. Working alongside social movements, fisherfolk organisations, peasant networks and researchers, we expose the structures driving dispossession and advance alternatives rooted in justice, sustainability and democratic control over land, seas and food systems.
