In part I of the discussion, The Hague Declaration was highlighted as a historic step in advocating for Palestinian self-determination, supported by nine governments with hopes of more joining. Corbyn reflected on his political struggles, his expulsion from the Labour Party, and his ongoing work with The Peace and Justice Project to mobilize grassroots activism. He called for solidarity with gig workers, refugees, and Palestine while condemning the military-industrial complex and Western complicity in genocide. Varoufakis delivered a scathing critique of Europe’s vassal-like obedience to the U.S., explaining how austerity, neoliberalism, and corporate greed have led to political stagnation, rising extremism, and a complete lack of sovereignty. He argued that fighting for Palestine is crucial, not just for justice but as a symbol of broader resistance against imperialist power structures. The call to action? Mass mobilization, unity, and reclaiming democracy from the elites.
