Manoela Carneiro Roland has a law degree from the Federal University of Viçosa, a master's degree in International Relations from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, a PhD in International Law and Economic Integration from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and she is currently doing a Post-doctorate in International Law at the same University.

Manoela was a professor of Public International Law at PUC-Rio, course coordinator and professor of Constitutional Law at the Federal University of Viçosa, and is currently a professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, where she teaches undergraduate Public International Law and Human Rights, and also in the Law and Innovation master's program at the Law Faculty.

She coordinates Homa, The Human Rights and Business Institute since 2013. She is Editor-in-chief of the journal Homa Publica (Qualis A4). She has experience in International Constitutional Law, International Public Law and International Relations, working mainly on Human Rights; Human Rights and Business and International Human Rights Protection Systems. She is also a member of the ETO-Consortium.

She is a member of the Dismantle Corporate Power Network, which brings together more than 300 civil society organizations, social movements and international research centers. As a member of the Global Campaign, Manoela Carneiro Roland has been following the negotiation process of the International Treaty on Business and Human Rights since 2015, having acted as an expert at the second negotiating session in 2017. She has also participated in the drafting of different normative instruments in Brazil, such as Resolution No. 5 of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) and Bill 572/2022, which seeks to implement a Framework Law on Human Rights and Business.

Prof. Manoela Carneiro Roland worked from June to September 2023 in the Human Rights and Business General Coordination at the brazilian Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship. You can find her publications  hereand also on the Homa website
