Myriam Vander Stichele Associate
Myriam Vander Stichele has since 2004 been researching the financial industry in relation to its diverse impacts on people, the environment, business impunity and democracy. She advised and was active with NGOS advocating for transforming finance, especially the financial investment industry, with a focus on sustainability and a just transition, financial stability, and rule-making at national, EU and international level. Before, she researched and was part of NGO campaigns to improve income to farmers from the Global South through preventing abusive supermarket practices. She continues to work on the danger of global food price setting on financial platforms. Since 1990, she monitors trade and investment agreements as tools for neo-liberal economics. Myriam in-depth research, speaking engagements and networking is supporting many NGOs in their EU and international campaigns.

During a long period as Senior Researcher at SOMO (Centre for Research on Multinational Corporations), Myriam's research has been particularly focused on the harmful corporate strategies in the financial and food sectors, and the related regulated frameworks at the expense of people and planet.
