Crash Course: Understanding the EU Investment Agenda

This half-day crash course will offer a detailed look at and critique of the current EU Investment policy in ongoing trade & investment negotiations. It will help activists, policy makers and journalists to better understand the wording of investment liberalisation and protection chapters as well as the EU's proposals for a slightly reformed Investor to State Dispute Settlement mechanism.
Please note, that this seminar will not be an introductory course on Investment/ISDS, but an "advanced level" discussion of available negotiation texts and mandates! Course participants will receive additional background material and analysis.

12.30h- 13.00h: Other EU Investment Mandates and Negotiations: The example of the EU-China BIT negotiations
- Input by Roos van Os / Roeline Knottnerus (SOMO) and final discussion.
