Agnes Gagyi is a sociologist, focusing on politics and social movements in East Central Europe, from the perspective of the region’s long-term global integration. She is a researcher at the University of Gothenburg, where she has been working on housing politics and urban green infrastructure. Her recent publications include Middle class politics and the global crisis in Eastern Europe, Contemporary housing struggles, and The political economy of Eastern Europe 30 years after the 'transition': New left perspectives from the region. Agnes is co-founder of the Solidarity Economy Center in Budapest.
